Jonathan Ruffus, Psy.D.
Dr. Ruffus is a New York State licensed psychologist and certified school psychologist with advanced expertise in comprehensive psychological assessment and intervention across the lifespan. As the founder and clinical director of Psych Insights, Dr. Ruffus specializes in the evaluation and diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder, attention- deficit / hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), learning disabilities, and a range of emotional and behavioral conditions in children, adolescents, and adults. He has conducted hundreds of evaluations in school, clinical, and early intervention settings, including developmental assessments for infants and toddler-aged children. His therapeutic approach is integrative, drawing from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic theory, and family systems theory to address the unique needs of each client. Dr. Ruffus is dedicated to delivering accurate, evidence-based diagnoses and individualized recommendations that support meaningful and lasting outcomes in academic, social, and emotional functioning.
Our Services
At Psych Insights, we offer comprehensive psychological services for children, adolescents, and adults in New York State. Our services include psychological and neuropsychological testing for ADHD, autism, learning and mood disorders, as well as cognitive and academic assessments. We also provide individual, couples, and family therapy using evidence-based approaches, such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic theory, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), interpersonal therapy, as well as family systems theory. Our team also specializes in exposure-based therapy for anxiety and phobias, and we offer parent training for caregivers of children and teens experiencing behavioral challenges at home and in school.
